The African connection

John Minford Associates has historically had connections with Southern Africa, particularly in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Much of our work there (but not all) was related to the agriculture and tourism sectors - - which have taken rather a downturn these last years. Zimbabwe in particular has been heart-breaking. We have watched clients’ businesses destroyed, but to break the indominatible Zimbabwean spirit takes longer.

We still maintain close contact. Allison Gans, our one permanent member of staff, is located in Cowies Hill, Durban, South Africa, and she coordinates our exposure on the continent.

Our South Africa office is in daily contact with Head Office, and is an integrated part of our UK administration and Accounts production. Electronic linkages really do produce a global village.

Alli will also spend her time if asked helping our clients with travel or holiday logistics in the region. She is happy to sort out hotels, car hire, itinerary planning ….. and as the daughter of a famous Game Ranger has even been known to act as guide in search of the Big Five!

She is currently garnering interest for the football World Cup in South Africa in 2010. Match tickets are still available!
